IRONCLAD PERFORMANCE WEAR LAUNCHES PURPOSE BUILT GLOVE FOR SEARCH & RESCUE

Ironclad Performance Wear, the leader in high-performance hand PPE, announced the arrival of their first purpose-built, first responder glove, designed for search and rescue tasks. As an established name in dependable hand protection, Ironclad is no stranger to the world of rescue operations, with a purpose built extrication glove being among the most requested glove. This release is an answer to those requests with three key safety features: DEXTERITY, CUT & IMPACT, features blended and balanced to protect hands while allowing intricate work in high-risk fields.

Protection and dexterity are typically opposing features when it comes to hand protection – one aspect comes at the price of the other. This dilemma becomes very evident in rescue as fire departments increasingly answer the call for many forms of technical rescue, from vehicle extrication to confined space rescue. The wide variety of specialty tools and hazards involved places extreme emphasis on protection and dexterity that typical gloves simply cannot meet because they are either too lightweight or bulky.

Ironclad has bridged that gap with the Extrication(EXTRC) glove, providing the requisite protection and dexterity for the operation of specialized equipment in hazardous situations, even when wet. The EXTRC palm wields an astounding ANSI 8 cut resistant liner made with Dupont™ Kevlar®, encased in a highly abrasion resistant Amortex® exterior layer to perform unaffected by mangled metal, broken glass and rubble present at an aftermath. The 3-layer cut and abrasion resistant palm works in concert with the low-profile impact protection that guards knuckle and fingers without impeding flexibility and ability to work in confined spaces. A wrist gaiter inside the gauntlet cuff cinches tight around the wrist to seal off broken glass, rubble and fine debris while allowing easy entry and removal.

These safety features combined make for a glove that is highly suited for rescue operations where meticulous work must be performed quickly and precisely, under high risk.
