Users Guide: PPE EN 388:2016 and EN 420:2003+A1:2009 Cat.2 Glove

These products are classed as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by the European PPE Regulation (EU) 2016 / 425 and have been shown to comply with this regulation through the Harmonized European Standards EN 388:2016 and EN 420:2003+A1:2009.

The user must select the appropriate gloves for the task at hand.
Storage and transport: When not in use, store the product in a well-ventilated area away from extremes of temperature
Obsolescence information: Inspect the gloves before use for tears or holes. If any are found do not use the gloves and dispose of them.

Cleaning instructions: The gloves should be wiped clean under lukewarm water only.
Allergy information: Gloves do not contain any harmful substances to the wearer

Level “X”: indicates that the glove has not been submitted to the test or the test method appears not to be suitable for the glove design or material 

Impact Protection: Where the gloves meet the requirements of EN 388 for impact protection the marking code “P” is added after the five performance levels. The test has been carried out with impact energy of 5 J. Impact protection has been tested and rated at the knuckle area of the glove only. Impact protection has not been tested and rated at the areas of the fingers.

Gloves are not suitable for chemical applications. 

If tear performance is greater than level 1, the glove shall not be worn when there is a risk of entanglement by moving parts of machines.

Do not apply heat. New and used gloves should be thoroughly inspected for damage before use. Information regarding protection refers to the working surface, i.e “the palm side” of the glove, which has been submitted for testing. The protection levels indicated are only valid for new gloves.
