COMMAND™ IMPACT HI-VIZ WINS 2019 OH&S AWARD

Ironclad Performance Wear, a leader in the hand safety industry, is excited to announce we have won the Occupational Health & Safety New Product of the Year Award for the second year in a row. We are proud to receive the award in the Hand Protection category for the new Command™ Series, Impact Hi-Viz Glove (IEX-HZI).

This year’s contest attracted entries in 24 award categories, with an independent panel of highly qualified judges giving top remarks to the innovative products. One judge stated, “The solutions will definitely make working safely and in compliance significantly easier.”

The IEX-HZI is the first glove to combine Ironclad’s proprietary high conductivity Command™ touchscreen technology with high visibility fabrics and impact protection. This is the first glove on the market to incorporate all three features into one glove model.

On the back of the hand, High Visibility Safety Orange and Yellow features, combined with reflective accents keep users’ hands visible, while ANSI Impact level 1 protection keeps them protected from accidental bumps and scrapes. On the palm, ANSI Cut level 2 Command™ touchscreen technology helps workers stay safe, without causing any loss in productivity.

“With the amount of technology making its way into the workplace continuing to grow, the need for a durable touchscreen work glove became rapidly apparent,” says Derek Eshleman, Ironclad’s Senior Product Manager. “The challenge that we had to overcome, was how to incorporate this in a way that meets our quality and durability standards.”

Unlike existing touchscreen gloves in the market, our Command™ technology is introduced at the beginning of the process, ensuring that gloves remain conductive throughout their entire lifecycle, and that the touchscreen does not impact any other aspect of performance. Providing better conductivity test results than the human hand alone, Command™ technology ensures that worker’s hands are protected, while not limiting their ability to get their job done in the digitally connected workplace.

Winners will be recognized with awards next month and in the November/December issue of Occupational Health & Safety magazine. They are also featured on Occupational Health & Safety’s industry-leading website, ohsonline.com.
